Do I Need A 1500 Or 3000 Watt Rms Amp? I recently purchased 2 12inch Alpine type S subwoofers. There 2 ohm each, normal rms is 500 max is 1500 each. so what I wanna know is if I need a 1500 watt amp or 3000 to push them to the max. I also would like to know of some good examples of amps for my subs to run at max. Thanks

Only look at rms watts. Each sub has 500 rms watts at 2 ohms. Together, they will have 1,000 rms watts at 1 ohm. (2ohm plus 2 ohms in parallel connection = 1 ohm. I know the math is backwards, but that’s how electrical resistance (ohms) is measured)

So you need an amp that can push 1,000 rms at 1 ohm.

I just did a research for someone else and found a good deal on a the amp that you will appreciate.

This is a very reputable brand, quality product, good customer service. It will work for you for many long years.

Also, call the guys at Techronics with questions. It’s my local shop. I’ve been there several times and met with the president, Sharone, and his sister, and some guys in the office. Their offices and warehouse are clean and tidy. They keep their prices low and treat customers well. They run the business right.

It is possible for your amp to fry your subs. To prevent this, follow these steps.

First, turn gain almost all the way off.

Start the engine and play a familiar song on a store-purchased CD

On the head unit, turn up bass, treble, and volume to max.

Now, open all windows and go to your amp.

Very slowly, gradually start increasing gain (turn to right)

One of two things will begin to happen:
      a) either your ears will start hurting

      or

      b) you will start hearing distortion / noise / burping from speakers.

When you get either A or B, stop increasing gain. From that point take gain down just a tiny bit.

      You are set.

Adjust your volume, treble and bass to your liking.

This is how you set the gain on the amp. It’s purpose is to protect system from permanent damage of its components, including your ears, as they are also part of the audio system.

Print this and take it with you to the car.

What Is Potential Business? I would like to know some potential business ideas. actually what does mean by potential business?

    1. Reply

As much as business owners like to think so, the product or service a company offers cannot be all things to all people. If you’re marketing a product or service, understanding who the ideal customers are, or the customers who are most likely to benefit from and buy your product or service is the key to successful sales. The customers who fall into this group of people most likely to benefit from and buy what you’re selling is the potential target market.

Questions About Telephones? I have some questions about telephones, could you answer them please?
    1. Where can I find a time-line/ brief history of the telephone
    2. What happens to telephones when they are useless: are they thrown out, or used for other things?
3.Are any parts hazardous to the environment?
    4.How can they be improved?
5.How much energy does an average phone use per year?
    6. If you could make any improvement to today’s cell phone, what would it be?

    Thanks

      2. Unfortunately, public landfills still receive most of the waste in the form of broken and obsolete consumer and business electronics. The good news is that more and more modern products are actually designed to be more easily recycled, and are engineered to be easy to dis-assemble into plastics and recyclable parts.

      3. Older telephone equipment used capacitors that contained substantial amounts of PCB’s which were outlawed in the mid 1970’s. PCB production was banned in the 1970s due to the high toxicity of most PCB congeners and mixtures. PCBs are classified as persistent organic pollutants which bioaccumulate in animals. Up until recently, telephone equipment, along with numerous other consumer and industrial electronics, also contain substantial amounts of lead which also contaminates the environment. Fortunately, the European standard for ROHS (reduction of hazardous substances) dictates the use of leadless soldering and components, which manufacturers in the United States have been forced to adopt in order to to business overseas.

      4. Improvements are driven by consumer demand and the ability of technology to satisfy it. Cellular communications are rapidly replacing “land lines”, and IP (internet pprotocol telephones are moving voice services onto the internet, and away from dedicated copper lines. Improvements for cell phones will consist mainly of faster wireless services which will provide the ability for a cellular handset to do many things that much larger devices with dedicated lines do now, including remote video conferencing via cell phone, video on demand, and better hand-held internet access. Land based phones will also benefit from higher bandwidth, creating new devices that do much more than make and receive phone calls.

      5. Telephones are, and have been very frugal in terms of energy use. In general, compare the electricity used by a household phone in a year to that of an ipod, and you will be in the ballpark. Cell phones actually require a bit more power, so saying that my cell phone battery provides 1000 milliamp hours, and at the end of each 8 hour day it requires 3/4 of a charge, that’s 750 mah per day, times 365, for 273,750 mah, or 273 amp hours per year, dividing back by 365, or 3/4 of an amp per day, and that is around 15% of the average daily use of a 75 watt light bulb; pretty small. In one year a cell phone uses way less energy than one gallon of gas.

      6. I would make the phone impossible to use while driving.
