How To Re-activate My Temporarily De-activated Account Immediately? I just tried to send a message from my own email account to a large group of people and received a message that my account has been temporarily deactivated for 24 hours to prevent spam. This is a totally unreasonable and counter-productive policy that needs to be changed immediately! Leaving legitimate Yahoo users stranded without full email service for extended periods because we have inadvertently violated policies Yahoo has chosen not to inform us of, is not an acceptable way to do business. If, in order to prevent spam, Yahoo won’t tell anyone what the maximum hourly and daily limits of sending messages are, how on earth are legitimate users supposed to avoid exceeding these limits by accident, if we have no idea what they are? If keeping all Yahoo users in the dark about message-sending limits is the only way to prevent spam, then there also needs to be a way for legitimate users to prove we are not spammers if we unintentionally exceed those limits, instead of punishing us for other people’s crimes by wrongly deactivating our accounts without warning or explanation or any means of rectifying the situation in a timely manner. A malfunctioning screen with a captcha code appeared along with the error message, but when I entered the code, all that happened was that the exact same screen reappeared with the exact same code. Effective spam prevention requires the ability to distinguish between spam and legitimate messages. A “spam prevention” system that automatically deactivates accounts that are merely suspected of sending spam with no means of subsequently verifying whether or not these accounts are being used legitimately, is not distinguishing between spammers and legitimate users at all. I am not a spammer; this is the same Yahoo Plus account I’ve been using–and paying for–for over a decade, and I expect better functionality and customer service than this. Please inform me at once how to restore full access to my email account immediately. Being unable to use the email service I am paying for because the service provider has failed to implement any means of identity verification is totally unacceptable. Thank you.
You could have entered the code incorrectly
Why not get another email account, say with GMAIL.COM
Why Must I Provide Yahoo Mail Password Several Times Per Week? Also, why am I being asked to type code for spam prevention for every email I want to send as of today 3/30/13?
I am a 78 year-old Hospice caregiver at home, desperately busy and unwilling to spend time with this extra work, after many years with this Yahoo account . WHAT’S HAPPENING?
One possibility is that there may be some misuse of your account. Go into the account info. Check your login history for logins from a location where you are not at. Look for tampering with your alternate email contact address. If so, clean that out. Change your password.
Why Am I Getting So Much Spam And Why Is It Even There? What is the purpose of the spam mail
Hi,
Spam doesn’t have a purpose except to be an annoyance to those of us who receive it.
