Is This An Ebay Invoice Scam? I emailed the seller and tell him that i want to buy the laptop out now. He sends me this.

(my name), I want to sell it for $1200. I received it as a gift for my birthday. It’s new, in box, unopened with all accessories. I would not want to sell it but I need money urgently, and that’s why I sell it, and especially with this price.
If you are real interested we will make a deal with eBay through eBay and for payment you have to pay by bank account. In the way that we make the deal you will receive first the Dell Alienware M17X and you have 7 days available to check and to decide if you keep it or not.
If you are still interested please give me a reply to explain you more ..

(my name), I propose to close the deal trough eBay, since they are the biggest and the most trustworthy online market place. Basically, it’s similar to buying locally. In the way that we make the deal you will receive first the Dell Alienware M17X R4 3D FullHD i7-3940XM 2GB 680M 32GB 250GB SSD + 1TB HDD and you have 7 days available to check and to decide if you keep it or not. For payment we will use eBay bank account. eBay will contact you on email with the Payment Invoice. eBay will contact us (seller and buyer) with payment and delivery instruction.
You will have to pay eBay by bank account. The money will be sent to their holding account, and they will keep the money until you will receive the M17X. After they inform me that they have secured your payment into their account, I’ll deliver the M17X to your address and pay the shipping myself. After you will test it, inspect it for 7 days and decide to keep it, they will forward the money to me once you have approved them to do so. If you won’t like or if it is not as advertised, which I can assure you it won’t be the case because this is new in perfect working condition the M17X will be returned to me at my expense and you get full refund from eBay.
To register the deal at eBay I need from you these info: eBay user ID, full name, address, city, zip code, country and your phone number . As soon you give me these details I will register the deal and eBay will send us invoices.
    Waiting your reply.

What Does Licensing A Video Non-exclusively For A Small Fee Mean? I recently received a message on YouTube from an employee at Red Varden Studios where they offered to non-exclusively license a video I posted (I own the clips) for a small fee.

What exactly does licensing a video non-exclusively mean?
As for the fee, does that mean they will pay me or I have to pay them?
Lastly, would any of you happen to know if Red Varden Studios is a legit and reputable company?

    1. Reply

Hi, the expression “a small fee” means their *charge* to you. I think if it was the other way around, they should call it an “advance”.

“Exclusive” means sold only through the one outlet. Therefore I think “non-exclusively” means not only they will earn from your video. Which can be both good and bad, as it means a wider market, but usually at a cheaper price.

If I am right about this person’s intention, then I caution get clarification first. As people asking for upfront fees are scams! They should wait until everything is done. Therefore email them for the contract details.

Finally, I did an online search and they appeared to be a legimate business (based in LA, presumably Hollywood). Then, however, I searched on “scam” and this was associated with them. However, these forum threads may be unfair slander/libel. You’d better read them.

To conclude, get everything in writing, and if you can afford it (or lucky enough to have a lawyer friend), ask them. If not, maybe come back again on here.

It seems your video is marketable, but tread very carefully…..

Did You Know That America Has At Least 3.2 Million Vacant Jobs? Many employers call this hiring advantage “a talent shortage.” They claim there are fewer qualified workers available nowadays, and that colleges are just not producing graduates with the skills that industry and business need…”

@ O’Reilly – Why do you blame Obama for low wages? That’s entirely the decision of the job creators.

Did you read your own article? The ‘problem’ isn’t lack of ‘skills’ it is a total lack of ‘work preparedness’. In fact, it seem that the ‘feel good’, there are no winners and losers, self esteem first education policies that have fostered these totally unprepared prospective employees.

From the article: “It’s not that they are stupid – they’re not. It’s that many are coming into the job market wanting to be Vice President next week and my boss the week after.”

Why the heck would they remotely think that unless they were taught to think that way?

And: “They can’t write a basic email. Many cannot complete a logical voice mail. They haven’t got a clue how to interact with clients. They don’t know that socks are actually mandatory with a suit at presentations.”

Who the heck is teaching these prospective employees? Why can they not write a basic email? It’s simple english and writing skills they should have learned in what the 5th grade? They can’t complete a logical voice mail? How did they learn that? And who the HELL has the nerve to wear a suit with no socks to a presentation? No one will respect or even hear what you are saying if you don’t present yourself as worthy of respect and attention. It is EARNED not assumed.

No, the need is not for additional training. The greatest need if for actual EDUCATION in formative years. With successes, failures, structure, regulation and discipline.
