learn how to achieve your goals every time

Sometimes, we just don’t know enough about what we are trying to achieve. Stuart Wilde

The question that I am asked most often is….

How can I get my goals achieved?

Get Clear, Get Clear, Get Clear… Crystal Clear about what you want to achieve. This step is often the one that most prospective clients think they have mastered but really have not. When they arrive at my office, they are surprised to find out that in fact they weren’t clear at all about what they want to achieve.

How can you make absolutely sure that you are clear?

If you can convince yourself of what achieving the particular goal means to you, then you’ve done it.
Ask yourself not only what you want (this is definitely a good place to start) but why you want this. What about getting this goal is important to you?

Start by asking yourself what it is that you want.
Let’s say you want to be rich. Excellent. So, what does rich mean to you. Is it having a certain amount of money? A particular type of life? A particular possession?

Next, ask yourself why you want this. Let’s say that you’ve established that rich, to you, means having $1,000,000. Ok. Why do you want this $1,000,000? I am sure that you do not want to simply amass bank notes. What do you want this money for? Is it that you want to exchange the money for luxury vacations, or to become debt free, or buy the home you always dreamed of…go ahead, you fill in the blanks.

What’s next… now that you know What you want and Why?

Yes, you are right if you said that you ask how it makes you feel to achieve this goal. Put yourself in that picture. Think about you with the achieved goal. What is it like to have it? Understand how it makes you feel means getting to the essence of what and why you want the goal.

What exactly is essence?

Let me first say that this step is as critical as the ones before, because, you see, the essence is the crucial, and often unchanging, element of what you want to achieve. You must take the time to really feel the essence of what the goal achieved represents for you.

You know that doing what you’ve always done gets you more o what you already have…undesirable result.

Skimp on getting clear and get more of what you have…Unrealized Goals. We both know you don’t want that! So, go ahead ask yourself 3 simple questions:
1) What is your goal? Be specific!
2) Why do you want to achieve this goal?
3) How will your life be different when you achieve it?

You are reading this article, so I don’t need to convince you that you are ready to have a different outcome.
