Flashback Spread via Hijacked WordPress Blogs
If you found Flashback on your Mac, chances are you were infected after visiting compromised WordPress Websites, according to the latest analysis from Kaspersky Lab.
Flashback’s creators originally used social engineering techniques to trick users into downloading the malware before switching to the Java exploit that made drive-by attacks possible, Alex Gostev, head of the Global Research and Analysis Team at Kaspersky Lab, said in a SecureList post on April 19. The gang exploited several Java vulnerabilities to stealthily download the malware when unsuspecting visitors landed on these WordPress blogs.

IDG News Service - Despite a growing list of alternatives, WordPress continues to be the most popular blogging platform among the world’s most popular blogs, a study has found.
WordPress is used by 49 of the world’s 100 most popular blogs, according to a survey posted Tuesday by Pingdom, a company that offers a service to test website uptime.
