Nearly a fifth of all adults in the United States have created a Voice Over Web Protocol (VOIP) call on the Internet, according to a new survey by Pew Analysis. Among World wide web users (a majority of the population), that number is 24 % and on any offered day 5 % of World wide web users go on the internet to make telephone calls. The amount is a large boost from the 6 % of U.S. adults who created Internet telephone calls in 2007. Among them, only two % created Internet calls on a daily basis.
