I’m trying to learn the ropes with affiliqate marketing and have joined a few sites as an affiliate.
Where can I advertise for free if I don’t have the budget for a google adwords campaign etc..?
Also are there any blog sites that would allow me to advertise my product or service ?

You will be able to advertise by writing good content articles about your products and submitting them to top article directories like Ezine, Go Articles, or Article Alley to name a few.
You can subscribe to WordPress or Blogger and create a blog for free and generate traffic by putting a link in your articles that directs traffic to your blog.
Join Squidoo and create lens. Write articles and you can also link your blog to your lens.
Submit classified ads through places like USFreeads. This is free but you can not put a link in your ad. You can upgrade for 9.99 per year and the upgraded version will allow one link and one image.
Press Releases are a good way of writing in a journalistic form and generating traffic to your lens, or blogs.
