I am interested in hearing if anyone has differing opinions of what I’ve heard so far. Here is a little of what I’ve heard:
For info on Senate S 425 (the senate version of the Bill):http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd…
Text of H.R. 875http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext…

Now, if you have another opinion, I’d really like to hear it, as well as your reasons for that opinion. I like to have both sides of an argument, and so far have only been able to find one side of this expressed anywhere.
When people get sick with food poisoning, or die from salmonella, they don’t blame the farmer who raised the livestock. They blame the government, for not keeping the food supply safe.
The FDA has been understaffed for years, and too many slaughterhouses go uninspected. I just don’t see how tracking infected animals to ensure they don’t end up in our food cycle is a bad thing.
These two (2) resolutions are an attempt to control the people and
their way of live through providing for themselves, either by growing their
own food, or raising live stock.
This is just part of Corporate America and the Banksters attempts
to enslave the American People.
I can find several things wrong with it, but after referring to the bill too often my answer keeps getting erased.
One more time…..
S 425 has exclude some meanings to the word “person”. The orginal FDCA defines “person” completely and as a house hold consumer and an individual who intends to consume……..
The commerce clause is being used very strongly in this bill, but I do not know if it was used as strongly in the two bills that S425 amends.
Food can be recalled before, during and after it’s travel, if it has “supposedly” violated the bill.
The real concern for the paragraph above is the term “food articles”. In one section , the term “food articles” was not specifically identified.
The bill seems to give the “secretary” too much power, but again I don’t know the amount of power in the orginal bills.
It sounds to me like another attempt by the government to take over everyones’ lives. There is already a perfectly reliable method for tracing disease carrying livestock and has been in use for a long time. We don’t need to have all livestock in the country to be tagged by the government and to have them telling every farmer what he can and cannot do, and what he can have, with his livestock.
You’re going to see a lot more of this kind of lawmaking coming down the pike as the members of the Congress and Senate try to suppress common people while giving their buddies and boosters support.
I eat as much fresh organic raw fruit and veggies as I can – I’m Vegan. I have browsed the ‘net and found a lot more entries saying that these bills will be detrimental to organic farming than those saying that it is a good change. Has anybody who is familiar with legalese read the bill and can comment? Skimming through HR 875 it appears to grant greater powers to this new agency without creating the accountability to the American consumer and government to ensure that all American citizens have access to pure, natural, unprocessed and uncontaminated food supplies. Pesticides are known to harm people. You can taste the difference between food that is alive and food that is not nourishing to your body but dead. That kind of food causes illness, in far greater numbers than food-borne contamination (think heart attack, cancer, etc.).
