Back then, digital media, social media, podcasts and mobile marketing had not even been conceived, or even dreamt of. It was back then that many businesses were totally focused on creating the next big promotional advertising campaign that was going to happen on radio, television, or on banner ads on the Internet.

However, those days are long gone. The new technology revolution has brought in a long list of vehicles that are effective at promoting all types of goods and services. The companies that are left behind are doing everything they can to get back up to speed.

So exactly why should a marketer even care about mobile marketing? And if they can figure that out, exactly what do they need to do to get started?

Without a doubt, mobile technology is the easiest solution for getting right up and close to your customer. Right now, three quarters of every individual that lives on the planet has a mobile phone, and at least half of those have a direct connection to the Internet. Mobile technology is truly a valuable tool that can enable any marketer to gain instant access to their consumer base at the right time, and in the right place. It is one of the only effective ways of getting directly to the right person, whenever the company desires.

There is a certain physics of media that indicates that it is a new channel and a wave of the future. It is an effective tool for understanding how to make the best use of the consumer’s media habits. An effective and successful marketer will understand how to launch a campaign that is much different than what was done just a decade or so ago.

Mobile marketing can create huge amounts of success for any business that can take full advantage of social network sites, pushing notifications, and finding effective tools for drawing the attention of their customer base.
